The digger in the foreground is working on the edge of the Prince of Wales Dry Dock

On the right-hand side is the old entrance to the Prince of Wales Dock. The dock basin has been sealed off and on the left is where the new lock gates to the Prince of Wales Dock will be made.

Another view of the basin showing the land where the entrance channel will be made.

The end wall of the Prince of Wales Dry Dock nearest to the Dock.

The Dry Dock cleared of all the back fill which took place over many years. The walls are still in remarkable condition

A new sluice built to allow the level of the water to be controlled.

This picture shows the position of the old lock gates

In the centre is the discharge  from the redundant hydro electric generator.

The map above shows the original entrance to the Prince of Wales Dock.. The locks are highlighted in green. The Dry Dock is pink and the basin in yellow. The new entrance will be through the Dry Dock. Note this map was drawn before the Kings Dock was built.
