Blaenavon Steelworks

Stop Press 2nd of July 2004

This month we visited the Iron Works at Blaenavon. The site is in the process of restoration but considering how long ago it was built it has survived very well. The quality of the stonework is exceptional. We then had lunch at the Riflemanís Arms and yet again only two steaks were ordered not because of choice but because the purveyor of fine meat had not made his delivery. Fred Eliot was contacted but he was unable to deliver in time. Below are some photographs of the Iron Works

Brian Davies explains how it was used.
